October is Bullying Prevention Month, a time to encourage compassion, belonging, and respect as we come together to build a safe and caring school community.
Wednesday, October 22nd, was Unity Day!
We wore orange in recognition of Unity Day as we stand together in support of Bullying Prevention Month. Unity Day is a national event dedicated to promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. It serves as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in creating a safe and supportive environment for all students. By wearing orange, we show our collective commitment to preventing bullying and fostering unity within our school community. Let’s come together to show that we are united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!
Why the color orange? Unity Day is held in October, and orange is a color commonly identified with that month and season. It is also a color associated with safety and visibility. Orange is described as warm and inviting, and its vibrancy makes a strong statement.
Uniting in Kindness Each class that receives counseling lessons will have the opportunity to write a kindness note (a compliment, kind word, or promise) to create a classroom Kindness Link Chain.
